3D Interior Visualization - Apartments

Role:
3D Artist, Graphic Designer
Project overview
During the construction phase of the building, I was tasked with creating 3D interior renderings based on the architect's floor plans. These renderings offered a compelling preview of the space well before its completion, to attract potential tenants to sign leases early and effectively promote the apartments.
Challenges
Promoting the space was a significant challenge with only the floor plans available. Most of the audience struggled to visualize the apartment space from blueprints alone, which could block leasing efforts. Additionally, the 40-story building offered some of the best views in the city—an asset that needed to be showcased to attract interest. The task was to bring these elements to life, providing a clear and enticing vision of the future space.
Solutions
Over four months, I created a 3D furniture library with input from a professional interior designer. Leveraging open-source textures and materials in Blender, I transformed 2D floor plans into detailed 3D interior renderings. Using Photoshop and depth maps, I produced hyperrealistic visuals with depth of field and real-world background plates from drone photography. These renderings illustrated the future space and played a key role in shaping critical decisions later in the marketing plan, such as furniture selection for the apartment showroom.
Results
The 3D renderings became a cornerstone of our marketing strategy, prominently featured on the website, brochures, flyers, and in digital ad campaigns. This approach proved highly successful, with 20% of leases signed well before the building was ready for occupancy. Additionally, the detailed visualizations influenced the interior layout, guiding furniture selection for the showroom once construction was complete. The realism and attention to detail received widespread praise, exceeding expectations and laying a solid foundation for the success of our marketing campaign.
